(1/2) “I worked in the city for 34 years for B&O Railroad. I was in freight claims. If they had a derailment, I would handle that, write damage reports. I started at Baltimore and Charles Streets in the B&O building. Then we moved out of that building to Charles Center – and from there we were supposed to go to Jacksonville, Fla., and I said, ‘no way.’ So I took an early retirement and a company buyout. I would get on the streetcar and go to Baltimore as a young kid, go to the movies, come home late on the streetcar and I never had any problems. I haven’t been to Baltimore city for seven or eight years. I wouldn’t go in there if they were giving away gold.”
