“I’ve had 10 dogs. My book is all about my dogs. It’s all about how smart they are. He’s a Brittany spaniel and he’s 16 years old. I’ve had four Brittanys before him. I am so blessed because I couldn’t afford, on my Social Security, to pay for the medical bills of a 16-year old dog. The rescue organization paid for all of his bills but I pay for his food. So far, he’s worth $5,000 or $6,000 and I don’t have anything else in my home worth $5,000. He’s the most valuable thing in my life right now. I’ve never been without a dog. I’m a little concerned about what’s going to happen when I lose this one because I don’t know if I can qualify for a dog again.”
