Jack, 97

(2/2) What’s it like to be 97? “I have mixed feelings about it. I have a lot of good things. I have twins who are my great-grandchildren, identical boys. I had eight children. One died. He was 42, and he had cancer. My wife died this past January. I was married for almost 69 years. We married in 1948, two years after I got out of the service.”

What, if anything, are you struggling with right now? “Nothing really. I’ve been struggling with my wife being gone but at my age you have to learn to accept things like that. She lived a long life.”
