“I lost my car recently. It died. It was 20 years old and couldn’t be fixed anymore. Now I have I have to get a ride or a taxi everywhere. It’s weird because I’ve been driving since 1962. It’s nice to get rides with friends but it takes getting used to. There’s a bus that comes here and takes you down to grocery story once a week.”
What’s the best thing that’s happened in your life? “I’ve had two trips to Rome, Italy. The first time I went, it was with my church group and we went to all these different churches. It was beautiful. We went for a whole week and it was really nice. It was very prayerful and religious. The second time I was babysitting for my niece, who was at Johns Hopkins studying to be a doctor. Her husband was also at Hopkins. They told me that since I was babysitting for their child so they could finish up their degrees, I could go anywhere at all. So I said let’s do it again. I went with them and their two-year old. That was really great.”
