(2/3) “My husband passed away 12 years ago and shortly thereafter, my house was robbed. I came in on the robber and he had a large knife and he had already taken all my valuables down to the backyard to his car. I really thought I was a goner but for some reason he ran out the door. So I called 911. I felt very blessed even though an awful lot of things that were quite valuable to me were taken. He left me with my life. So I made the decision that I could no longer live in that house that was isolated, and that’s when I came to Passavant. I’ve been here for 12 years and I just love it here. I just love it here.”
What can you teach someone else? “To be positive. I’ve had a lot of things that went wrong and a lot of heartache in my life, but you can always look to the positive. This past winter, I spent in much of the winter in the hospital to have an operation but they said at 95 it was too risky to operate. So I’m living with the malady and trying to do the best I can. And I keep busy here with as much as I can. I’ve had God with me all my life. I had a wonderful marriage. I’ve had parents who were very good. I’ve had good family relationships. So what more can you ask for in life?”
