Ruth, 88

(1/2) What’s it like to be 88? “I love it. You have lots of memories to look back on, and I’m in excellent health. I can get out and walk. I have great-grandchildren I can enjoy. I am just very happy to be 88. And I’m soon to be done with this world and go be with the Lord and Savior. But I am enjoying it and I love this place. There is no place in the world like this place. My sister is in the nursing unit and the care she gets is unbelievably wonderful. I think the Lord probably 100 times per day for letting me come here. It’s an awesome place.”

What, if anything, are you struggling with right now? “I can’t walk as far as I’d like to, but I can walk all around the cottages and there’s a bench every time I’m tired. There’s a swing under a great big oak tree where I can sit and swing. I shut my eyes and I’m on my mother’s front porch.”
