(2/2) “Soon after the Green House [at John Knox Village] opened, there was an elder with dementia who had been staying in her room, where she hadn’t spoken for a long time and she hardly ate. I think she was 90. But within one month of being in the home, she was talking in sentences; she was eating and smiling and answering questions. Her aide was also bringing her downstairs to church and other activities. That showed just how much a Green House home is like a family.”
