“I was born in Highlandtown and lived there for 48 years, until I moved here. I was an athlete as far as sports was concerned. I still am in good shape. I played basketball and mainly bowling, and fast-pitch softball. I stopped bowling when I was 60, I stopped playing basketball when I was 62. I loved basketball when I was younger. With softball, I taught myself how to pitch. I was pretty good at it and we won some championships. The best part of being older is being wiser, having more patience. And you get to the point where you’re at peace with yourself–calm, collected.”
